TERRY EATON

terry eaton.JPG

Terry first became involved with Llanyravon AFC in 1982 when his eldest son started playing for the under 12’s. He initially helped running the side and in the years that followed, joined the committee and eventually became club secretary.

Later, Terry joined the Torfaen Junior League, initially as the Llanyravon AFC representative and later served as assistant secretary, treasurer and secretary. Terry also helped run the Gwent County Youth league in the 1990’s and managed the under 18’s. Terry retired from his positions with Llanyravon AFC and the Torfaen League in August 2016 after being actively involved for over 30 years.

Terry was very proud that over the years he and many other volunteers helped thousands of kids get a game of football every weekend, as this was something he did not have when he was growing up. Terry always thought it important that youngsters had an opportunity to enjoy themselves with their friends and be able to flourish.

The Club has created an award in his name for his dedication to Llanyrafon AFC.

This award is given to a player that has consecutively played for the club for 10 years or above, and has shown the same dedication as Terry.

The award is presented at the players final season as a junior football player.
